Oval Coffee Table
Oval Coffee Tables Blend Perfectly with Any Furniture
When we think of coffee tables we usually think of an item that has straight edges and is rectangular in shape. But that is not always the case. There are many variations of this traditional piece of furniture, and one of the most common is the oval coffee table. This can be due to a number of factors.
An oval table seems to be a classic choice, and is very often found in homes where there are very young children or elderly residents. This is probably due to the fact that there are no corners through which accidents can occur making them safer for those who might be slightly unsteady on their feet or whose eye-sight is not as good as it once was.
But an oval coffee table, while being an ideal table when taking into account safety factors, is also an excellent choice of modern coffee table for design and style purposes too. They easily blend in with a mixture of both contemporary and traditional styles and so work well in most homes. And they don’t tend to take up as much space as their rectangular counterparts, so are also ideal in smaller rooms where space is limited.
A coffee table is quite often one of the most important items of furniture in your living room. So much so that other furniture such as sofas and chairs will usually be arranged around the placement of the table in order to maximize its functionality and use. That said, it is important when deciding on a style of table, to choose one which will not only suit the rest of the furniture and décor, but which will also suit the need your family will have for it. A curved or corner suite will suit an oval table better than a rectangular or square one, as the lines will flow more smoothly and seamlessly.
Tables are also available in numerous materials. If the rest of your furniture is wooden, then a wooden table will probably be your one of choice, but if you like a modern twist to your furniture than a table with a glass top can be just the thing. While the frame of the table can be in various finishes such as wood, brass or iron, the glass itself can also be of different kinds. A dark smoked glass can look ultra chic, or a plate glass crystal top can look luxurious.
If you need extra storage space in your living area then a glass coffee table with shelving underneath can be what you need. It is also possible to obtain them with small doors or cupboards beneath them, which can not only add extra storage space, but provide you with the perfect hidey-hole in which to put things away out of sight. Whatever style of table you choose it should not only look good, but be able to be as practical as it was designed to be. From placing cups or glasses on it, to a vase of flowers or magazines, the table can be as versatile as you need it to be.
